helloGrinding the 180 man SNG’s pt. 1
Like I said last week I was planning on playing 20 $2,5 180 man SNG’s this week. I ended up playing 23 of them, cashing $251,30, or a net profit of $193,80, which comes down to a ROI of 337%. These results are obviously far better then I had expected (I expected to up around $25 after one week).
Here’s the graph:

I’m running pretty good and not playing all that bad. Not that many spectacular hands have been played, although I keep breaking my head over this one:
This hand was very crucial, I became chipleader after this hand and ended up winning the SNG. Obviously I think he’s stealing and A8 is too good of a hand to muck there. BUT, if I push do I only get called by better? The player was very active (33/33) and his steal attempts were at 100% (over 20 hands, mind you) so was this the right play? I still don’t know…
Maybe I’m not playing cautious enough and this will result in a major downswing later on. Another example of me playing a bit too reckless is the following hand:
After his push I’m only a slight favourite at best. I have a healthy stack, so maybe I should pass on this spot?
Many interesting questions I’m taking into the second week of the grind (although some might say that playing 20 SNG’s a week might not be considered an actual grind, lol.)
Running (and playing) bad live, running good online.
First of all I want to apologise for the lack of updates recently. It’s been a busy summer so far.
As a result I haven’t played that much poker this month, although I did go on a poker weekend with a friend of mine at the beginning of July. We spend 2 and a half days playing 1/2€, but mainly due to some crazy suck-outs (I had aces cracked twice when a monkey moved all-in with an underpair and made a set) I booked a 570€ loss.
After that weekend I only played in two 1/1€ games, but because of very bad play I lost five 100€ buy-ins. As a result I lost my whole profit of the month June, and 25% of my live bankroll. Time to slow down a bit and think things over.
And the other hand, my online LHE experiment is going quite well. It’s been on a hold a few weeks, but I started playing again two days ago. I know, I know, a few session don’t tell everything, but I’m pretty confident that this experiment will allow me to build a decent online bankroll. Especially when the hands keep coming and the other players keep playing like morons.
I’ll keep you all posted.
